Coastal Resiliency in Transportation

Discussion Title: Identifying Coastal Vulnerability Challenges & Implementing Resilient Solutions: Transportation Infrastructure Resiliency Case Studies

Presenters:

Chris Longo, PE, (VHB)

Director of Coastal Engineering and Resiliency for New York, Chris is a senior water resources engineer with 30 years of experience solving complex water resource problems throughout the US. His focus is landfall hurricanes and riverine modeling, hydraulic effects on infrastructure, impacts to floodplains, wetlands, and tidal water bodies. Ryan Winter, PE (VHB)

Sr. Transportation Project Manager for New York, Ryan senior transportation design engineer with over 20 years in transportation planning, roadway design, traffic safety design, construction observation and administration, cost estimating, and permitting. As a Long Island resident, Ryan tends to focus on those transportation projects that intersect with the coastline and require holistic approaches to meeting the needs of a project from both the transportation side, but also in how those improvements can complement the adjacent marine conditions.
